| The key to excellent workmanship with
regards to chrome plating requires several steps which are vital in
insuring the best possible outcome. Hence, the key to good plating
work consists of the following procedures:
(1) Inventory
All parts are inventoried and most parts are marked so that the
customer receives his/her own parts back upon pickup.
(2) Stripping
All parts which have paint, old chrome, nickel, powder coating,
etc. is stripped down to the bare metal.
(3) Bead blast/sand blast
When required, parts are carefully cleaned via bead blasting to
insure proper preparation.
(4) Repairs
Parts in need of repair or welding are handled by skilled professionals,
the
absolute best in the industry.
(5) Polishing
Before plating, all parts are highly polished, which is a vital
key for the best possible outcome. To insure the best satisfaction,
all customers should advise us as to which areas of each part are
visibly seen, and hence should be polished.
(6) Plating
Plating consists of several steps which are essential for beautiful
results. Our laters are highly skilled and experienced. Most parts
are "triple-plated", consisting of copper, nickel, and
chrome. However, our plating procedure is much more complicated
than this, and since we strive for the best possible results, we
often re-copper and hand-sand some parts several times to insure
of the finest quality and outcome. The chrome we use is trivalent
chrome, which is environmentally safe and our particular bath insures
a beautiful high-luster finish.
(7) Quality control
All parts are carefully waxed and inspected upon final completion
of plating.
